The Journey Continues
Answering a Call

Nearly three years ago, a friend, Ruby Johnston, asked me to view some videos of their work overseas. In that short period of time, I knew then that our lives would be dramatically changing and they did.

On September 19, 2009, we return for our third extended trip to Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan.  We are eager to return to a people we love and to a land that truly feels like home.

Over the nine months we have spent in the country, God has enabled us to  make incredible connections with those in ministry and also with the national government,  David will continue his work with Mercy Foundation, which includes six Christian schools, three orphanages and a growing, young university. I will have the privilege on continuing my work with the local  and regional governments planting seeds for the beginnings of a foster care system.

We have been asked many times why we are going. We have asked ourselves a very important question – why wouldn’t we go? We feel God has called us to this particular place and at this particular time. Simply put, we want to go there. We want to meet the people. We want to learn their names. We want listen to their stories and most of all, we want to love them and by doing so, share Christ’s love.
